On May 19th, 2012, 45 faculty and staff members were organized to visit the “The national patriotic education demonstration base” ---Memorial Hall of Taierhchuang War. This visit was arranged in order to condole the revolutionary heroes who devoted their lives for the country in the war, and to give education of patriotism and revolutionary tradition.
The taierhchuang war, also regarded as the brilliant crystallization of the second cooperation between kuomintang and the Communist Party, is a significant victory of Chinese troops in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War after the victory in Ping Xing Pass. In over a month's time, more than 2 thousand enemies were killed in the war, which was accounted as one of the most outstanding achievements in the whole Anti-Japanese War. Zhou Enlai also thought highly of this war. He once said: " Although this campaign happened just in one area, but it influenced the whole situation of the war, the whole country and even the whole world!"
The great victory in Taierhchuang, on the one hand, extremely encouraged Chinese people's enthusiasm and confidence in the war against aggression, and on the other, heavily blew off the arrogance of Japanese imperialism and destroyed its aggression strategy against China. It was spoken highly of by the whole world’s anti-fascist people for expanding the international influence of Chinese people’s indomitable struggle against Japan. Taierhchuang is therefore known as "the unyielding place of China". Under the guidance of the commentator, visitors listened to the introduction of the battle and watched the precious film materials and other video materials taken by war reporters, thus got to have a deeper understanding of the period of history. More than seventy years passed, but people can still hear the patriotic soldiers charging and fighting, invoking every visitor's deep thinking and distant memories.
This visit to Taierhchuang gave vivid education of patriotism and revolutionary tradition for everybody. They have expressed their resolution to always remember the history and make positive contribution to the school in the ordinary post.
